David Fernandes started photographing his native Gloucester when he was in middle school and continued taking the photography courses in high school. Capturing the skies and the wonderful light of Cape Ann has inspired him to continue his photographic education with the beautiful light show the seasons provide year round. Beautiful skies and water are recurring themes in David's images. His saturated images show the drama of light and textures in still life. While there is a delicacy that can be found in his quiet moments with a seagull or boat on calm waters.
David is an exhibiting member of the Newburyport Art Association, and its Photography Interest Group. His image Through the Bridge of the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge was included in the show “Where in Gloucester?” at the Matz Gallery, Gloucester, MA by jurors Susan Oleksiw and Christy Park.
