About the Artist….
The visual arts, painting and drawing in particular, have always been an important part of my life. I’m especially interested in how colors interact with each other on a surface, how they can create a sense of space and also create an emotional response in the viewer.
I grew up in the farmlands of Eastern Pennsylvania and later moved to Massachusetts to attend college and to work. My imagery reflects both my background in PA as well as my current environs of Cape Ann. I’m a large- scale colorist and love to paint images that are colorful and bring me joy! The work of David Hockney, Nell Blaine, Richard Diebenkorn, and Ed Ruscha are great sources of inspiration. I recently retired after working 43 years as a registered nurse, and now work full-time in my studio overlooking beautiful Pigeon Cove Harbor.
